Monday, Sept. 1^st, 2014

Please make sure that you have a good breakfast before coming to school. Water/soda will be provided, and you can bring a snack if you would like.

 10:45        Arrive at Ford in summer uniforms

 11:00         Leave for Romeo

 11:30         Arrive in Romeo and report to assigned area (Await further instruction. You know the routine; hurry up and wait.)

 1:30           Parade Begins

 1:30- 3:00         Step off – we have not been assigned an event number, so I will not know where we are in the parade line-up until the day of the parade!

 4:15           Arrive back at Ford (approximately)

 If parents are at the parade and plan on picking up students at Ford, please leave right after we pass you.  Don’t wait until the parade ends to start home.  There will be an adult present at school for one half-hour after the busses have dropped us off! Also, please try to park in an area that will give you easier access to leave Romeo- south of the parade route is recommended.

 If you are taking your child home directly from the parade, please send in a note to be given to the bus chaperone, and pick them up at the location on the map on the reverse side. 

Ever wanted a chance to dump ice water on Mr. Schoenherr? (Without fear of repercussion?) Well, now’s your chance! I’ve been nominated to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, (thanks Dylan!) and I figured we could sell raffle tickets for the opportunity to drench Mr. S! Senior Jon Hicks was nominated as well, and will also be a part of the raffle. (I’m sure some current students would LOVE to get him too!)

The tickets will be available only during Monday nights marching band rehearsal at HFII, 8/25, 5:00-9:00. The drawing and dowsing will take place at 8:30, on the marching field. There will be a drawing for a small, medium, and LARGE bucket of water, for both of us, your choice where your tickets go! Tickets are $1 each, 10 for $5. All proceeds will of course be donated to ALS research!

Well, we started setting up – but, unfortunately, the rains came. With the forecast calling for storms throughout the day, we are canceling the Family Picnic.

Band camp for freshman, new campers and seniors starts tomorrow. Orders are being accepted for Spirit Wear. Make up fittings for marching band uniforms will be held Tuesday, July 29th during home band camp.

Shoe fitting for all new marchers (and anyone Who has outgrown their marching shoes) will be
Monday, July 28th at 12:00 PM. The cost is $32.00/pair. Money can be taken from a student band
account (Contact Jill White hf2imb.treasurer@gmail.com ), or make a check payable to Henry Ford
II Instrumental Music Boosters. (HFII IMB.) THESE SHOES ARE SPECIFIC FOR MARCHING BAND.
BLACK DRESS SHOES OR TENNIS SHOES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. We do have a small supply of used shoes you are welcome to check out during uniform pick-up, if you would like.

Reminder that the make-up fitting evening is tomorrow from 6:30-8. That is Wednesday, July 23! It is imperative that your student attend.

Our Annual Summer Family Picnic will be held on Sunday, July 27th (1-4).  Please see flyer for details and list of dishes to pass.

Due to low participation, we have added a uniform fitting night for next Wednesday, July 23rd from 6:30-8:00 pm. If you’re student has not received their summer and full marching band uniforms, please plan to attend. There are too many students to accommodate them all for fittings during home band camp.
